Casa Mineral

Oaxaca, Mexico

Born from the soil, shaped by shadow.

Modern concrete and rammed earth house at dusk

Grounded in the rugged highlands of Oaxaca, Casa Mineral emerges from the earth like a natural geological formation. Constructed with thick walls of pigmented rammed earth, the structure's distinct horizontal bands perfectly echo the surrounding soil. A heavy, brutalist concrete canopy floats above the main volume, casting sharp, geometric shadows that shift throughout the day. Framed by native agave and illuminated by the blue hour twilight, the pavilion embraces its arid context, utilizing raw textures and deep voids to create a cooling sanctuary in the desert.
